TV shows are becoming bigger and better by the year and with a whole new roster of shows 2021 will be no different with these shows debuting this year(This one has a very Marvel look)
It's that time of year, new TV shows all lie ahead of us and the excitement is building, in this list I run through five shows I am looking forward to. (Yes they are all superhero shows!)

What If...?
When Marvel announced it's slate of TV shows for Disney Plus, What If...? was one of the most intriguing, the potential to relive fantastic MCU moments with some delightful twists sounds like the kind of nostalgic fun superhero fans need at the moment. With Jeffery Wright (Hunger games amongst others) signed on as The Watcher the show has potential to be a fun trip for Marvel fans in what is sure to be great time to be a superhero fan.
The show will be based on comics of the same name, editions including What if Iron Man was a traitor and what if Gwen Stacey Survived were big hits and will it will be interesting to see if they make it to the screen. The show has some great potential and will feature a whole selection of MCU alumni in what could be a really fun show.
With little else known about the show it comes out at five on my list but with a cast of some MCU favourites from all across the universe the show can only get more exciting the more information we learn. It will be interesting to see exactly who we get to see in what scenario, the idea of the show opens many doors to the MCU and many scenarios to explore.
What we do know is the plot to the first episode which in itself is a very exciting one for me, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) will be taking the super serum instead of Steve Rodgers (Chris Evans) and go on to become Captain Britain. In addition to this in the episode because of the absence of Captain America in his life Steve will become Iron Man. with a great idea then first episode sounds brilliant the only shame being that we will not get to see any more of Captain Britain and Rodgers Iron Man.

Falcon And The Winter Soldier
I pondered whether Falcon and The Winter Soldier should get a place on this list due to the fact very little is known about the plot however, this is Marvel and despite being more of a DC person myself there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Marvels ability to produce content is insanely good. (lets not forget about Thor: The Dark World for now)
The decision to pair Bucky and Sam is a interesting one, it makes a little more sense after the end of Endgame and the friendship has been well developed by Marvel. The main question is what route the show will take, will it be more of a buddy cop show or adopt a completely different genre like WandaVision?.
MCU boss Kevin Feige has described it as a cinematic experience stretched across it six episode run so could see the series stick with the Avengers mould and go for all out action which would be great, it really has all the potential and really could be a another hit for the ever-growing MCU.
Falcon (Captain America?) and the Winter Soldier will debut in March in an exciting year for Marvel TV.

WandaVision
I know what you're thinking, another Marvel show? The truth is Marvel is smashing it, using Disney Plus to it's fullest to produce as much entertainment and possible and we could not ask for any more. WandaVision has everything going for it from top to bottom, it's trailers blew fans away and gave us something very few of us would have expected.
The show is the first to be released this year and has a lot of weight on it's shoulders because of this, the show seems to be trying to do something very different to what we've seen from superhero television (and films for that matter) and is described by Jac Shaeffer as "A love letter to the golden age of television" and judging by the trailer we will get exactly that.
The big thing for me that will decide my enjoyment of the show is the character of Vision, someone I think was woefully misused in the movies. This is a chance to flesh his character out a little more and maybe use the fact he has a infinity stone in his head to stop him getting beat up by everyone. On Vision, Marvel seem reluctant to confirm whether Vision is alive or not, something I'm sure we will find out when the show airs.
The show will debut on Disney Plus in January and will kick off a year of (hopefully) fantastic MCU tv shows, lets hope WandaVision will deliver on the hype in a big landmark for Marvel.
2
Superman and Lois
Finally we get a non Marvel addition to this Superman and Lois, the show that finally brings the man of Steel back to our screen and does so with Lois Lane in a show different to anything the CW has done before.
As the Arrowverse continues to expand it was only a matter of time before Superman got his own show. Tyler Hoechlin has done a remarkable job in his limited appearances as the Man Of Steel and has more than earned the show along with Elizabeth Tulloch, that for me, has been perfect as Lois Lane. The show will take a different approach to Superman and I'm all for it, from the shows promotional work it seems that Lois Lane will finally share the spotlight with Clark as they tackle parenthood together in a post crisis world.
The series will also see that Lois and Clarks life has changes dramatically, the results of the crisis on infinite earths have seen Clark's and Lois parenting duties double as they will now have two children opposed to one they had pre crisis. It's an interesting angle to take the show, it enables Clark Kent to get more time as a character as a person and will allow the show to take a look at the balance between being Superman and a Father something we haven't seen from Superman.
The casting of The Shadow, described as someone mysterious who wants the world to see it no longer needs Superman will start as the main atagonist for the show. This will allow the show to explore the publics view of Superman, his power and whether his protection is needed. (something Man of steel tried to do and The Dark Knight did with Batman) It also opens the door to focus on Clarks inner conflict on whether he thinks Superman is needed, especially with his new found Fatherhood.
It has all the potential to be great and a lot to live up to with Smallville (the farm from Smallville is actually being used by the show) but hopefully the show can continue the Arrowverse recent success (I for one enjoying the first season of Batwoman especially).
1
Loki
Rounding off this very Marvel list is Loki, a show that will have Loki time travelling through history altering events. This sounds like pure joy, with Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki and has the potential to be one of the best on tv, labelled as a crime thriller the show will debut in May consisting of six episodes.
As mentioned earlier Marvel is going all in this year with it's shows and Loki is one of the most anticipated, Tom Hiddleston has been a fan favourite since debuting as Loki in 2011's Thor and has been a fantastic God of Mischief ever since.
Loki is a tv show that many fans have being asking after for a long time now. When Loki from 2012 stole the Tesseract in Avengers Endgame it was the moment many fans had waited for. The question for this show is can it deliver? Loki has been around pretty much since the start of the MCU, being a fan favourite known for his mischief and charm turning good/bad as much as the Big Show.
The big thing for the show is can they keep what fans like about Loki with him being the centre of the show and without Thor?(Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth chemistry has been one of the best things about the Thor franchise) My gut feeling is yes, and as I said for Falcon and The Winter Soldier, it comes down to trusting the MCU which based on recent times is an easy thing to do.
